Tony's of West Reading

This is a very tough review to write. First off I want to thank the owner for take my order over the phone and updating when we made changes. I think from reading others reviews, having an owner who has his personality is what brings sustained results. So if he responds to this I'm welcome to hear it and understand this is his bread and butter. 1. The best part of the cheese steak is the meat, it's makes the difference in the overall experience and it's great meat quality. Good old fashion cheesesteak meat. 2. The biggest let down is the bread, this bread is not a delightful experience. The more you chew it the harder it becomes almost like a bubble gum, which was strange. We ordered 4 cheese steak and each person had that same comment. This is the same bread on the cold sandwich which was even harder as the cheese steak has sauce to make it more enjoyable. It's a workout to chew through the bread. 3. This was a $14.50 (passyunk)sandwich which hurt because everything other then onions and cheese was additional charge. He has to run a business but we also have to be smart consumers. The cheesesteak sandwich shop is considered the best in the area, but it makes me wonder how poor the other shop are. It's not bad a bad sandwich but not a great cheese steak. There used to be the Steak Shack 5+ years ago that made amazing cheesesteak that no longer exists. I think if they change the bread, make homemade bread like great cheese steak shops then they will have a spectacular sandwich experience until then, I would say try it but come with the mindset of a good experience. If you update the bread I would love to swing by for another experience. Ps the fries were very amazing, those I would get again.

Got the Passyunk Prime cheesesteak and the 10" Rustic Italian. My wife and I shared each. Both were fantastic. They followed instructions and put the oil and vinegar on the side because we kept the hoagie for later. Word to the wise. Order on their website far ahead of time for when you're gonna pick it up. You pick up at a window. No inside. There were five people waiting before me when I got there and they all, like me, ordered ahead of time. I wanted to try their pizza but they didn't have any on the Saturday I ordered. Next time.

Ordered online and drive out to pick up from the takeout window. The sandwiches were great. Excellent rolls for cheesesteaks. The garlic truffle fries were really outstanding. Good portion sizes for the money. In this touch economic climate it’s great to see a nice filling quality tasting portion for the price. It was $60 for a family of 4 which is very reasonable and everyone enjoyed it. Will order from here again.

Avoid Tony's Pizza in West Reading: Rude Owner Ruined My Experience I rarely write reviews, especially about food businesses. However, my recent experience at Tony's Pizza in West Reading compels me to share my story. While I usually enjoy their food, the owner's behavior was so appalling that I will never order from them again. Without any provocation, the owner slammed the window in my cousins face and told us to go to another pizza place in Reading instead. This disrespectful and unprofessional behavior came without any reason whatsoever, leaving me bewildered and frankly, quite offended. It seems the owner was having a personal bad day and chose to take it out on innocent customers. This is completely unacceptable and reveals a lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. Regardless of personal struggles, running a business requires treating customers with respect and dignity. While I understand everyone has bad days, it's no excuse for such rudeness. Tony's disregard for customer service is evident in his actions. This incident has completely soured my experience and I will not be returning. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience with courteous service, I strongly advise avoiding Tony's Pizza in West Reading. There are plenty of other excellent pizza places in the area that value their customers and offer a positive atmosphere. Instead of supporting a business with a disrespectful owner, I encourage you to explore the numerous other options available. Your patronage deserves better than what Tony's Pizza offers.

I never have to drive an hour to Philly to grab a great cheese steak cause Tony's is only 8 minutes away. Loved both the original and Passyunk prime but prefer the original (no red sauce). The steak is tender and flavorful, the onions provide a delicate crunch and that melty cheese is my favorite. The cannolis were also on point. It's best to order ahead online and stick to the time they tell you to pick it up so you're not waiting on the side walk (there's no indoor seating). Tony's of West Reading is a must try if you're a cheesesteak aficionado.
